Education Programs
MPWDA recognizes that education is crucial for empowerment. Our education programs ensure girls and boys with disabilities can access learning opportunities and complete school successfully. Providing scholastic materials and creating accessible school environments are key priorities.
We have supported 470 girls with disabilities with books, uniforms, and learning materials. This has significantly improved enrolment, retention, and completion rates in schools across Mpigi District.
The programs also include advocacy with school authorities and duty bearers to ensure schools accommodate the specific needs of learners with disabilities. We promote inclusive policies and accessibility audits to create safe and welcoming learning environments.
Major Activities:
- Providing scholastic materials to girls with disabilities.
- Conducting accessibility audits in schools to improve facilities.
- Advocating with duty bearers for inclusive education.
- Supporting parents to enroll and retain children in school.
Our education programs have increased enrolment and completion rates for girls with disabilities. Schools are now more inclusive, safe, and supportive of their learning needs. This holistic approach strengthens families, communities, and educational institutions, ensuring every girl and boy with disabilities can thrive academically.
